Backswood is an ideal venue to host visiting groups. Over the years we have been at Backswood we have been developing all the facilities to host medium sized groups and welcome any that wish to find out more about what we have on the farm. We have a large meeting room with a kitchen and toilets , which is ideal for School classes and social meetings.

Meeting Room

We regularly entertain school classes and they spend the day learning about nature in the Garden, enjoying the farm animals or experiencing the woods. We divide the classes into two groups and after we have had lunch in the meeting room, the groups swap over so that they are able to experience farming and nature at first hand. We have had great feedback and we work with a charity called FarmLink who have experience in organising School trips. See the link below

As well as children, we also have adult groups visiting. These include gardening clubs, U3A's and groups that are generally interested nature and farming. In July each year, we host two day's for the National Garden Scheme. Visitors can view the garden looking its best and in the future, we hope to be able to do farm walks to demonstrate how we are encouraging wildlife onto our farm.
