Nature Garden

During the time, we have been at Backswood, we have been creating a garden that provides food and habitat for wildlife. On our previous farm in Hampshire, we had a small area set aside as an educational area, where school groups could be shown how nature functions. This was such a success that we decided to replicate the idea at Backswood.

 Bee Garden

The Nature Garden at Backswood fulfils many functions. Firstly, it supports a vast array of local wildlife, providing it with both food and places to live. Secondly, it provides an ideal venue for visiting school groups to learn about nature. Thirdly, we  open the gardens annually for the National Garden Scheme and host many adult groups. Fourthly, it provides a great place for our cottage guests to relax while on holiday and finally it provides fantastic garden produce for the kitchen.

The link below takes you to a detailed map of the Garden and the second link gives you details of our charity open days organised by the National Garden Scheme.
